Privacy Policy
Zolunas is privacy-first. Most tools run entirely in your browser. This policy explains what stays on your device and what may leave it.
What stays on your device
Timer state, classroom or name lists, favorites, mute preferences, and tool settings are stored in localStorage by default. We do not upload your lists, notes, or timer titles unless a feature explicitly says so.
Accounts
If you create an account, we store your email, password hash, and a synced preferences blob (favorites, world-clock cities, display settings, and similar). Sessions use an HttpOnly cookie. You can keep using Zolunas as a guest without an account.
Microphone (noise meter)
The classroom noise meter uses your microphone locally in the browser to measure volume levels. Audio is not recorded, stored, or uploaded.
Online games and player profiles
You can play every game without an account. For online play (game rooms, ratings, chat, following) your browser keeps a random player ID, your nickname, avatar and an optional short bio, and sends them to our server. Signed-in players use their account display name. Other players can see your nickname, avatar, bio, ratings, win/loss record, whether you are online, and how many players follow you. They cannot see your email address, your player ID, or your IP address.
On our server we store: your player profile (nickname, avatar, bio, last-seen time, and a ban flag if one was applied), ratings and records for online games, the state of tables you are in, who you follow and who follows you, players you blocked, and reports you sent or that were sent about you.
Chat and reports
Quick replies are open to everyone. Typed messages need a signed-in account. Messages are visible to the people at the same table and are stored with the table. Tables, and the chat in them, are deleted when the table is closed or about 7 days after it was last used. If you report a message or a player, we keep the report (who reported, who was reported, your reason and the table ID) for as long as we need it to keep players safe and to deal with repeat problems. We may read reported messages and reports in our moderation tools.
IP addresses
Our servers use your IP address briefly to limit abuse (for example too many requests). It is not saved to your player profile.
Children
Zolunas online games and chat are not for children under 13. If you are under the age at which you can consent to data processing where you live (this can be up to 16), use online features only with a parent or guardian’s permission. If you believe a child has used the online features, contact us and we will remove their data.
Your choices and rights
You can change your nickname, avatar and bio at any time in your game profile, block or report players, and stop following anyone. You can ask us to see, correct, export or delete the data we hold about you (profile, ratings, follows, chat and reports about you where the law requires) through the Contact page. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. See also the Community rules.
Third-party services
Weather uses wttr.in. When you look up weather, the city or coordinates you search for are sent to that service. No account data is attached.
Optional analytics
Optional product analytics may record anonymous tool events and page paths. They never include names, lists, notes, or free-text titles.
Ads
Reserved ad regions may appear on content pages. Live ads only load when explicitly enabled. Ads never appear on game pages, in embed widgets, in account pages or over timer controls. When ads are enabled, ad partners such as Google may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU, UK and Switzerland) we ask for your consent first through a consent banner, and you can change your choice later.
